Trying to find what options you have with Norton 360 Insight. Am I able to change any of the options in Insight.
Can I scan my system including Trusted files. First Scan completed this but from then it only Scans a fifth of the files, or is there an option to than of or change Insight options.
Just frustrating that you cannot Scan your system when ever you want.
can you please tell us the exact version of your Norton product? 1. Open the main window 2. Click on Help & Support -> About menu 3. On the About window find the version number (it will look like this: 5.1.0.29)
As already noted, the insight feature does an initial scan of all files and then marks the trusted files that can be skipped in subsequent system scans. This cuts the time required to complete system scans while maintaining the security of the system. These files are skipped as long as they have not been changed or updated since the last scan. When they do get changed their status is changed to Unknown, and the will get scanned on the next scan.

You'd want to rescan Trusted Files...files that Norton safely excludes from scans...reducing the time it takes to run a scan. You'd want to deem all your files 'unknown' and have Norton scan your entire system whenever you want?
Norton employs the wisdom of crowds. Your machine is part of the crowd.
My two cents is that you'd benefit more from a second opinion scan tool than to rescan with your same resident security product.
Referring to Scans -> Norton Insight -> .
I imagine you can scan 'All Files' when ever you want. Click on the Refresh arrow (upper right).
Or, just switch drop down selection. Norton Insight whitelists files or apps based on reputation and shows the trust level of your files and the percentage of trusted files on your computer. The higher the percentage of trusted files, the quicker scans run, since your Norton product excludes trusted files from scans.
Norton Insight shows files that have high Norton Community usage and known good and known bad files in the Norton network. File Insight gives more detail including the file's signature, install date, resource usage, and source. If your Norton product gives a poor trust rating to a file that you believe is safe, you can, though not recommended, set your Norton product to trust the file.
