Norton 360 install

Hello, Can someone tell me where the "Base Filtering Engine" is in the servicers.msc window so I can continue with the installation of my Norton 360. I am not able to locate, is there another name for it?

Thank you.

Please advise how to install Norton 360 with tree PC installations onto another computer? My profile says it is still available, but there is no download link ..

Vlad

You can find the download link for your flavor of Norton 360 in the following support article:

Redownload and reinstall your Norton product

Either go to www.norton.com/download or go to www.norton.com/nuc. Make sure you click on the correct product family and just use your product key to activate. Easy as 1-2-3! :)

Hi,

which version of 360 are you trying to install and on which Windows OS? Also please let us know which was your previous AV product. Thanks!

ps: I will ask the moderators to move this post to the 360 board. A link will be here for you.

Hello, The Norton 360 Version is 5.0 and my O/S wiindow is 7. Not sure what the AV is but I use to have Mcafee but deleted from my system recently.

Cannot find Base Filter engine on my computer, what do I do?

Hello,

I am still waiting for an answer to my email yesterday regarding the NORTON 360 ERROR 5013,3 that I received while installing my Norton 360, V 5.0 Security Protection. My windows is version 7.

PROBLEM:

I am not able to complete the install because the command is asking for "BASE FILTERING ENGINE" I need to update but not able to find on my computer.  This makes the third request; Please advise.

Your assistance is appreciated.

Thank you

What I would try is to use the norton removal tool to make sure N360 is removed.  And remove any other antivirus program that maybe running.  Then try reinstalling N360.

Tim

Here is the link for the removal tool for N360.

Thank you but I have already removed and reinstalled twice.  Still have the error message.

Have you followed the directions?
Save the attached file to your Desktop and rename it as BFE.reg

I tried that and I guess I"m not doing it correctly... (I'm having the identical problem).

If I save the file, it saves as a text file. How do i go about renaming it?

I found out.

I had to rename the file as "BFE.reg" (using the quotation marks) and just ignore the extension box.

Hello, I have saved the file and renamed it. There is a caution sign when attempting to open it. Shall I continue to open this file? And what should I do afterwards?

I answered in your post on the other thread here:   http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Error-5013-3/m-p/617967/highlight/true#M62677
