Norton 360 IP address has disappeared and is no longer protected

I just got hit with this too.  My Norton 360 is all up to date but it got through.  Norton placed this info in the history file:

IP address has disappeared from adapter Realtek PCie GBE Family Controller and is no longer being protected (IP address: ###numbers)

Then 'spyandvirus-scanner1 DOT com' with more info after the /

Security History Details states the intrusion attempt was blocked.  I do remember seeing lots of the 'Internet Security 2010' windows pop up.

I'm running a full Malwarebytes scan now.  The quick scan showed nothing.

Anything else I need to do?

Thanks for all the help here.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I was going to ask a questions, I'll do it when I find were ever the orginal message gets moved.  Thanks again.

But isn't Norton 360 covered and wouldn't a virus question still go under this forum area?  Just want to put my question in the right place.

The moderator will place a link leading to your new thread in this thread, so you and other viewers can access it directly at its new location (most probably in the Norton 360 section) :smileyhappy:

Thanks again.

Last question, since I SAW the pop ups from the 'Internet security 2010' virus on my screen, does that MEAN I'm infected?  Norton 360 says in History that 'an intrusion attempt was blocked.'  Do I still need to worry?

I know, wrong area, but no one is over at the Norton 360 area except for YOU.

Thanks again.

Hi DeserttSagee,

Your post has now been turned into a thread of its own.

Did you manage to run a full Malwarebytes scan with the free version of Malwarebytes in the meantime? After running Malwarebytes, I suggest that you run a full scan with Norton 360 (please do not run the Malwarebytes scan and Norton scan together, but one after the other!).

If Norton blocked an intrusion, then it means that it recognised the fact that something was trying to invade your computer and successfully warded it off. You can read more on the intrusion-blocking mechanism in Vineeth's post over here:

Blocked Malwarebytes from Updating itself.

Hi Quads

Would it also have prevented SAS from updating itself?

I didn't need to worry about SuperAntispyware (SAS)

I know Malwarebytes updated detects it, but saw the thread where the user couldn't update Malwarebytes, So  I worked at breaking the active Rogue, once stopped, Malwarebytes can update and scan for the dead (dormant) Rogues files that are just sitting there
