Here's what you should do.
1. Download the trial version of Norton 360v2 here, 360v2 trial , during the install it will ask you for your product key, type it in, and you should be away.
2. As for the Live Update issue, you may try this:
(a) Uninstall you current Symantec Live Update through Add/Remove programs.
(b) Download the latest version of Live Update from here, Live Update, then install it. Hopefully this will correct your connection issue.

Thanks for your reply. That link shows a 15 day trial…what happens after the 15 days? When I downloaded v2 on the first computer I was told I was entitled to the upgrade as a current subscriber and purchaser of version 1 Norton 360. I went to the link that the person gave me before but it doesn’t show the Download option…just a Buy option. Maybe it is because I am trying to go directly to version 2 instead of reinstalling version 1 first?
You can download Norton 360 v2 directly from here. You don’t need to reinstall v1, you can just install v2. When you enter a valid product key the trialware version will be converted to full version.
It worked! I know how Version 2 of Norton 360 on computer 2, and computer 1 has it's Live Update fixed. Everything is GREEN at the moment and is looking good!
