So i bought Norton 360 yesterday. It all runs fine but i have one issue with updating. The first time i runned update Norton 360 recieved 20 updates worth 200+mb. The second time i runned update (To see if more updates are available) suprisingly it recieved more updates. Did that recieved and installed all the updates but here is the problem. Now there is one update that requires a patch to be installed. So i pressed "Apply now" and norton 360 installed the patch that came with the updates.
Everytime i reboot my pc and press live update this patch comes again and again the same patch. I installed it one time.. Two times.. It seems that it doesn't matter that same patch keeps coming into the update screen..
When recieved all the updates to this moment i must be able to run update and it must not update anything because all updates are then 100% recieved and installed. But i keep getting a update with this patch.. How many times i install it doesn't matter it keeps coming..
I used Norton Product Remover before installing 360 because i used Internet security before i bought 360.
I hope someone can help me out here. I'm not sure if my Norton 360 is fully up-to-date.
Somehow i must get this fixed asap. Thanks in advanced for usefull reply's.
I tried that.. IT didn't work.. Same problem. The same update with the patch keeps coming when i start LiveUpdate. I rebooted and tried again. Same problem.

I think my problem is that i used the old version of install file that was on my Norton CD.
This "older" version just didn't update and patch itself correctly and came into a update loop.
Now with this newest version that i downloaded from your links it updated and patched beautifully..
If you do decide to upgrade NIS, before you do, please select the product name from the Choose My Product Manually drop-down menu beneath the Update Me Now button; in your case, it would be Norton Internet Security. Next, make sure you select the version number 20 or 20.0; this will let Norton know that you have an older version and that you need to download the newest version (v21).
Just realized that in the title of your post you say "Norton 360...", while in the post itself you say you renewed your "Norton Internet Security". So, which is it?
It does matter for him to know which product he has, because that helps determine which product to select from the Choose My Product Manually drop-down menu at the Update Center.
That's right, the Remove & Reinstall Tool doesn't require the person to know which product he/she has. However, in my first reply I was referring to the Update Center (the one in Tony Weiss's announcement about v21.1.1.7), not the Remove & Reinstall Tool. When updating from the former place, they make you choose the product that you have before you can download the update. Therefore, like I said the person need to know which Norton sofware that he/she is running.
Since the original poster wrote Norton 360 in the title and then proceeded to talk about Norton Internet Security in the post itself, which I didn't realize until one of the mods moved the thread from the NIS board to the N 360 board, I thought I should ask this person which product he/she has in my second reply (I had told this person originally to choose NIS).
Finally, my second reply was followed by F4E's first reply, in which the first statment (see quote below) he made was that the person doesn't need to know which product he/she has, a statement which I thought he made in reponse to my question in my second reply. Hence, the confusion.
Not sure if I cleared this up. I'm sorry if I came across like a nitpicker.

Hi, Giminy-cricket. It doesn't matter which product you have, as the update procedure is the same for NIS and 360.
It's possible you may have been a corrupted install.
Using the Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool, will also give you a fresh install of the latest version.
