I am using 360 5.0 with Windows 7, 64 bit, SP1. Occassionally but not always it seems like Norton is using a lot of memory. I have 6 gig of memory but soemtimes when I run 360 and some other program, it looks like I am getting pretty high up CPU. Is 360 a real memory hog? Is there a solution?
No 360 is not normally a memory hog,as the norton of old used to be.
If you want to know what is running and causing your high CPU useage, from the main page, go to TASKS >Check Norton Tasks > insure CPU tab is Black (selected). Mouse over the chart, place the red triangle (hand) over the area fo high CPU useage and left click that area. A drop down will appear telling you the process % used by which process. This may be able to help you determine if anything else is running in the background andif in fact 360 is the culprit.
If you post back with addtional info (which process is causing the high CPU useage) someone will be able to assist you.
Are you by chance running any other real-time security programs?
