Norton 360 multi device

I just bought Norton 360 multi device and I think I have installed it on my iPad, but what is installed doesn't seem to match up all that well to the sales page.   (Also the instructions on the help page didn't seem to match my experience either)

The sales page lists a huge number of things including virus protection and the like,

But after I install the software on my Ipad the software (Norton Mobile Security) seems to be more about anti-theft protection and backups.

Have I missed something here? Where is all the virus protection and stuff. Or is that all in the background?

Thanks

Brett

I purchased this version with NMS included because I thought it would provide security for my iPad and iPhone. It does not state on the advertisement for this product that is does not include security for the Apple products.

All it provides is Anti-Theft and Backup. Big deal, Apple already has apps that does the same thing.

Very dissapointed with this purchase.

Hi phillong.

Welcome to the Norton Community Forums. :smileyhappy:

I think I can understand your disappointment but maybe I should give a little background (as a non Norton employee).

When NMS was first brought out for Android, iPhone and iPad users complained that Norton were not providing anything for their devices.  Apple tightly guard the details of their operating system, in part to try and ensure that it remains relatively secure, so Norton had difficultly in developing an app that worked as NMS does on Android devices.  However iPhone and iPad users continued to press Norton to provide a product for them.  So...eventually Norton did provide an app which would run on the iPhone and iPad even though it does not do all that is done on the more open Android system.  This appeared to please most iPhone and iPad users but I know that many would like to see all the bells and whistles that are available to Android users.  It is not that Norton claim this extra functionality just that people wish it were there and assume that it will be, which sometimes, as in your case leaves them disappointed.  :smileysad:

If you are really unhappy I can suggest three possible solutions.

The first is that you contact Apple and ask if they would give fuller access to Norton staff so that a more fully featured app can be produced.  However I think this is unlikely to bring any short term solution.

The second is that you change from you iPhone and iPad to Android devices.  Your choice.

The third is that if you recently purchased the Norton app you can seek a refund as Norton offer what seems to me to be fairly generous refund policy, details of which can be found here.

I hope that helps explain things a bit.
