Norton 360/My Norton disappears

After opening Norton 360, waiting for it to become responsive, and then starting up the Secure VPN application the My Norton screen disappears.

After opening it again I see the Secure VPN message, “Your connection is protected.”

So, the question I have is this, why is the My Norton screen disappearing from my desk top, and why must I open it again.

[by the way, sometimes the My Norton screen disappears after I have been using the computer for a while.  That is to say, sometimes I will be working on a project and I will notice that the yellow Norton 360 icon in the tool-bar will be gone.]

Um, are you running Norton 360 Secure VPN or standalone Norton Secure VPN?

i havent noticed that myself but i would check

in scans at bottom diagnostic report ( scan) should be all green when done

the auto fix ( help and at left support)

it has nothing to do with fast start up

it could be a corrupt or missing file or a bad install?

Are you seeing "Status update" popup?

Does your Norton 360 run LiveUpdate?
Does your Norton 360 run QuickScan?

Please run Norton Autofix to detect and repair common problems
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v15756942

Please run Norton LiveUpdate and Restart (not Shut down) machine. Repeat.

Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shut down and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here. (credit peterweb)
