After opening Norton 360, waiting for it to become responsive, and then starting up the Secure VPN application the My Norton screen disappears.
After opening it again I see the Secure VPN message, “Your connection is protected.”
So, the question I have is this, why is the My Norton screen disappearing from my desk top, and why must I open it again.
[by the way, sometimes the My Norton screen disappears after I have been using the computer for a while. That is to say, sometimes I will be working on a project and I will notice that the yellow Norton 360 icon in the tool-bar will be gone.]

Um, are you running Norton 360 Secure VPN or standalone Norton Secure VPN?
Please run Norton LiveUpdate and Restart (not Shut down) machine. Repeat.
Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shut down and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there canbe an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here. (credit peterweb)
