Norton 360 Network Security Map?

Hi everyone,

In my Network Security Map*, I have many devices including my own PC and several others. This is because my friends & cousins visit my house to use the internet and to play games. The devices that are listed includes several of my friend's & counsin's laptop. Unfortunately, it is kind of annoying to see my friend's and cousin's devices and I would like to remove them and a few others. Also, there are a few devices that I don't use anymore (including my old computer) and I would like that removed too.

In the Network Security Map, there is an option to add and edit devices, but I can't find the option to remove devices.

* - To go to the Network Security Map, go to the Norton 360 Main Menu. In the bottom, left corner, of the Norton 360 window, there should be a button where it says "My Network" (next to the black outline of a house in a yellow circle). Click on it and the Network Security Map should load up.

My question is: How do you remove devices from the Network Security Map?

If there isn't an option to remove devices, can you please add an option to remove devices (via LiveUpdate) because I find it annoying.

Thank you very much for your cooperation and help!

Hi Secure-Globe,

In Norton 360v2, you are only able to remove manually added devices from the Network Security map. Once you manually add a device, select that device and you should see a [Remove] link below the Restrict/Unlock button. However, in NAV/NIS 2009, you are able to remove all devices (both auto added and manually added).

I'd highly recommend you add your feature request to the Official Call for Suggestions for Norton 360 3.0

I also apologize for the inconvenience of being unable to remove all devices of your choosing from the Network Map. Hopefully this feature will be available in Norton 360 v.3.

Thanks,

Matt

I had the same problem after changing network cards.  Symantec tech support didn't even have an answer.  I found if you uninstall the NIC drivers and reinstall them it cleans this up. Try the following.

Go to start

right click on computer

select manage

click on device manager

click on network adapters

right click on your NIC and select uninstall

reboot and let windows reinstall the NIC

Good luck
