I just got 360 version 4. I know you can backup the identity safe/ Password manager from inside the program. I want to know the location of the files so I can back it up from outside the program. In this way my backup program can do it automatically. I need the exact file path. I am using Win 7 Ultimate. c:/program/users etc etc
I really just want to back up the passwords automattically.
I believe that file is encrypted. I can give you the directions on how to back up the file.Maybe in those directions you may get some clue to do what you want to do. I don't know if you can do what you want to do though.
Please follow these instructions to save your Identity Safe information by creating NPM file.
The encrypted Identity Safe data store is really of very limited value since you would have to go through many semi-painful steps to use it to restore the information. A better plan would be to use Identity Safe's backup function to create a more usable .NPM backup file which you could then place in a backup folder somewhere in your Documents folder. Then have your system's automatic backup program include that folder in future backups.
'IdentitySafeDataStore' contains the data file which holds your identity safe data in encrypted form. Path - C:/Program Data/Norton/{key}/N360<version>/IdentitySafeDataStore Enable View hidden files to view this path.
The procedure to restore your Identity Safe data incase of loss of information can be found in the following thread,
