Norton 360 Platinum

I have Norton 360 Platinum and I’m wondering why I can’t install antivirus on Android devices. Apparently, all non-Windows devices are inactive? What can I do?

Where are you seeing non-Windows devices are inactive? Have you had Norton on your Android devices?

What Android device and Android version is on your device? You need at least Android 10 to install 360. Just go to the Google Play Store and install Norton 360 from there. During the install process, use the Redeem Subscription or Sign in to sign into your Norton Account to activate the install.

The “Inactive” status on the Norton My Devices page is often caused by a data sync issue between your device and the Norton servers. If the Norton app on your device itself shows “Protected,” your device is still safe, and you can generally ignore the portal alert.

Common Reasons for Inactive Status

  • Sync Lag: The portal is notorious for showing outdated information that doesn’t reflect the real-time status of your installed software.
  • Disabled Remote Management: If “Remote Management” is turned off in your device’s Norton settings, the app cannot communicate its status to the online portal.
  • Subscription Issues: If your license has actually expired or was manually disabled for that specific device/seat, it will appear as inactive.
  • Technical Glitches: Incorrect date and time settings on the device can prevent it from validating its license with Norton servers.

Recommended Steps to Fix

  1. Check “My Subscriptions”: For the most accurate status, avoid the “My Devices” tab. Instead, click on your Account Icon > My Subscriptions > Manage Devices on the Norton Support Portal.
  2. Enable Remote Management: On your computer, open Norton 360 and go to Settings > General. Ensure Remote Management is toggled On.
  3. Remove and Reinstall: If the status won’t update, use the Manage Devices tool to remove the “inactive” entry and then reinstall Norton on that device to force a fresh sync.
  4. Sync Manually: On mobile devices, ensure you are signed in to your Norton account within the app and that your internet connection is stable.

I just have a screenshot to show that all non Windows devices not aktive or secured!

OK so you are talking about the Devices in your Norton Account.

If you look on those devices, you should see that they are in fact active. The Devices page of the Norton Account has been notorious for having incorrect/outdated information. As bjm_ notes above the My Subscriptions page will have the correct information for active devices.

device Samsung galaxy A55 5G

Androud Version 16, One UI-Version 8.0 - this ist the only one, with Norton 360 even as an Icon and it tells in German “Dieser Computer ist geschützt”

At the Samsung Tablet I’m not able to get it installed?

What Android version is on the tablet? Have you gone to the Google Play Store app on that tablet and tried to install Norton? Don’t worry about what is showing in your Norton Account’s Devices page.

If that’s the case, then of course it makes sense! But I uninstalled it on a tablet and can’t reinstall it. I only get the message asking if I want to install it on other devices instead of the one where I uninstalled it!

Again I ask what Android version is on the tablet? If it is older than Android 10, any installed app would still work. But if you uninstall for any reason, you cannot reinstall.

sorry, at the moment I don’t have it in front of me. I scanned the QR code from my PC with my tablet and then clicked through the steps. Then I only get a message asking if I should install this app on another device.

It is Androit Version 14 !

Scanning from your PC will still just take you to the Google Play Store anyway. Just use the tablet to go to the Play Store app and install 360 from there.

thanks a lot, I will try and come back to answer tomorrow! BIG THANKS for Help!
