Norton 360 Premier Edition not allowing dowloads

All of a sudden I cannot download from certain sites.  After the scanning the popup windows says there was a problem but it was removed and download is safe, but it won't let me open the file.

What's going on?  This is a trusted website that I have been dowloading from for a long time with no problems.  Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

what browser and version do you use?

What is your Norton 360's current version (main window -> Help & Support -> About menu -> it will look like this: 5.0.0.125)?

Can you try to disable the smart firewall for a bit to check if this feature blocks anything?

Steps to do it:

1. Right click on the Norton icon in the system tray (by the clock)

2. Click on Disable Smart Firewall

3. Set a duration (15 minutes would be enough)

4. Click OK

5. Try to download any files that did not downloaded previously

6. Reenable Smart Firewall

Let us know the results.

Thanks, but it didn't work.

I am using version 4.10.32

It's a hotfile.com download which I've doneloaded from many times and Norton has always let it go.

It's during the virus scan that the problem arises..I get the following "Insight Threast has been removed"

When I click on "more" I get Norton's site with hotfile.com OK/Safe.

As I said this has just started.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

It can be a false or positive detection. Do you download a program or a compressed file (rar, zip)?

You can get the file back if you open the Quarantine, find the file on the list, and click on Restore. But you have to be completely sure, that this file can be trusted, or you can get an infection...

Thank you...the files were safe.

All is well.

So were you able to restore them?

Thanks letting us know.

Yes, I was able to restore them.  And Norton said they were safe.

Thanks again for your help.
