Please help. I have two computers running Windows 7 and Norton 360 Premier. Both have orange exclamation points in the Tune Up area. The message is "your PC requires disk optimization to improve performance". When I click on FIX NOW button, disk optimization begins, then stops. The tuneup screen that shows the action of the optimization shows a red error X. When I click on details, I get a screen that lists the message below.
The message is System Reserved Drive: Optimization is not required. Current disk fragmentation is 8%
Second is:Drive E: Optimization is not required. Current disk fragmentation is 0%
Third message is: System Reserved Drive Error: optimization is not completed
How do I fix this?
Thank you whomever comes up with the winning answer!
Sorry for the delay. Please check the status of Disk Defragmentation service and make sure that it is started & set to Automatic. Let me know if you need any help with doing so. Then run Disk Optimization.

Can you restart the disk optimization service, restart the computer and run Disk Defragmentation from Windows first? Check if it completes successfully.
The services window still had disk defragmenter set at started and automatic.
I restarted the computer and ran the Windows Disk Defragmenter on my C drive (my main drive). It went through 9 passes. It might have completed 10 passes but I did not see it. The last group of passes was "consolidation." The program then listed under Last Run column today's date and 0% defragmented.
So I may have jumped the gun and went to Norton and clicked on Fix Now.
After 42 seconds:
System Reserved Drive: Optimization not required, current disk fragmentation is 8%
Drive E: Optimization not required, current disk fragmentation is 0%
System Reserved Drive: Error – not completed.
This is such a frustration. Should I ignore as it does not seem to effect program functioning or call to see if I can remove and reload?
I really do not want to be this much of a challenge!
I had same issue. Worked out that it was my virtual drive L: set up as a briefcase - LIVEDRIVE cloud facility. Norton tune up will not defrag this virtual drive so it report the error message. All i needed to do was temporarily close my LIVEDRIVE down and then run tune up - this removed the ! and replaced it with the green tick. Hope this helps
I use a program that syncs my office computer and my home computer. The program set up virtual drive so there is a place for the folders that are synced. I did not even think of that as a drive! When I figured out how to disable it, I rebooted my computer and hit the fix now button. And it is fixed. No more orange exclamation mark.
