Been a long time Norton Core Security Plus user. As you know, Norton Core is no longer supported. I contacted Norton Chat asking if I buy Norton 360, can my remaining days from my Norton Core Security Plus subscription be added to Norton 360. They said yes.
So during Black Friday, I bought Norton 360 Premium (10 devices) from Amazon. I contacted Norton Chat and now they are telling me they cannot merge the 2 subscriptions to 1 subscription to either Norton 360 Premium or Norton Core Security Plus.
I just wasted buying Norton 360 Premium during Black Friday. I even asked if they can pause my Norton 360 subscription and use my Norton Core subscription. They cannot even do that. My case # is ########
Just a head's up on this status. I sent a letter to Norton escalation team and they will issue me a refund as a good will even though Norton 360 I bought was from Amazon.com. Now that is what I call customer service! Will continue to use Norton and thank you to all the forum members for helping Norton customers.
All: The Norton Core Security Plus solution is tied DIRECTLY to the Core cloud services and Core functionality as it is "subscription based" and Core specific. Norton needs to validate that subscription for Core to continue functioning as it should. That being said, you CAN, and I DO, use different Norton products on my devices being used on the Core network. They ALL interface. Just keep in mind the CSP+ IS tied to the Core subscription and will be separate from other subscriptions. THAT is the only difference.
On the flip side, there could be a NEW software solution available at some point before end of support for Core. Having a NEW N360 product is probably not a bad idea but rather a step in the right direction rather than a not needed, since I personally believe the new Core solution will be based on that product. Much as data protector and other N360 features will be made available down stream with that product. Just my thoughts on the subject.
Thank you blm_ for following up. Wished Norton Chat support person told me this before I bought and activated Norton 360 Premium.
Support read thread:
"I have checked the comments however the subscription can not be transferred and there must have been a miscommunication." "I am very sorry for the hassle caused."
Support is telling me:
"remaining days of Norton Core can not be adjusted"
"only option for Norton Core Security Plus subscriber is to run out subscription"
I have been going back and forth with Norton 360 team and Norton Core team via chat. Looks like they are both different divisions. Not sure why it is that complicated to add the remaining days to either of the subscriptions.
They are separate products indeed but when I first chatted with Norton support, they said you can buy Norton 360 and they could move the remaining days from Norton Core but that it not the case now. Whoever still has Norton Core subscription, I highly recommend not to buy/activate the new Norton 360 until your subscription runs out.
Hmm, so only option is to run out Norton Core Security Plus subscription?
Hmm, I wonder if new Norton 360 subscription were installed n' activated....then Support can add remaining days from Norton Core Security Plus subscription. IDK
Um, did you ask if there is an upgrade path from Norton Core Security Plus to Norton 360?
Um, did you ask how Norton Core Security Plus subscriber can transition to Norton 360?
