Norton 360 Premium VPN

According to the description Norton 360 Premium includes a VPN. I don't see any option to activate or install the VPN on the My Norton screen. Is a VPN actually included in Norton 360 Premium and if so how do I activate it?

Its good hearing that support was spot on in your case. They don't get many positive reviews.

SoulAsylum I agree that Norton should notify users that they will not receive any new features if they renew - they will have to cancel their subscription and buy a new subscription to get new features. I suggested this to the tech support staff I chatted to.

I made a mistake in not unchecking the auto-renew option in my account - I will make sure I don't have it checked in the future!

I'm sorry I didn't mention that my subscription had auto-renewed - I honestly assumed that if the subscription was renewed I would be receiving the latest features on renewal.

It seems that Norton is shooting itself in the foot - if you renew your subscription you won't get any new features. You have to let your subscription expire and then start a new subscription. Some users may decide it isn't worth the hassle and use other products. Norton isn't making it easy to keep existing subscribers.

Having said that, the tech support staff I contacted on their chat was very good and spent a lot of time with me to fix the problem. I even got an extra month added to my new subscription for compensation.

Features being "added" doesn't appear as being the issue as a VPN wasn't a part of your legacy product in the first place having not being offered. I see the main issue as, Norton, SHOULD, be informing customers they are using a legacy product BEFORE renewals. Lay out the benefits of the newer versions before charging. I have and will continue to have auto-renew disabled for that primary reason on my account. Norton pounds us with everything else under the sun on a daily basis.

Conversely, it looks like going back to a standard "boilerplate" info request when assisting is in order on my side at least. Product name and version is a must ( asking if they're using a Legacy product as well ). OS and its version with build number. Default browser. Getting that out of the way right out of the gate makes things clarified to a greater extent. Nevertheless, thanks for the post back, good info indeed for future assistance.

peterweb - The VPN was not included in my account, because it was not included in my subscription. See my comment about new features not being added to existing subscriptions automatically.

I contacted Norton support via chat. The tech support told me that when I bought my original subscription VPN was not included. When my subscription was auto-renewed VPN WAS available, but my subscription was still using the old Norton without VPN. It does not automatically include new features when I renew an existing subscription.

The Norton tech helped me cancel my existing subscription, get a refund and buy a new subscription which included the VPN. The Norton tech was very good and patient. The existing situation is very confusing and frustrating. Norton needs to either update existing subscriptions with new features automatically or notify existing subscribers that they will need to cancel their existing subscription and buy a new one to get any new features. This is not clear. It seems that the the helpful people on this forum are not aware of this either.

I suggested to the Norton tech I was chatting with that Norton needs to update existing subscribers with any new features automatically or notify them that they need to cancel their existing subscription and buy a new one.

I've wasted my time, the people on this forums time and the Norton techs time because Norton has not made it clear how their subscriptions work. I hope this information is useful to other users.

The VPN is not listed in your account because it is included as a feature in your Norton 360 subscription.

I have followed all of the suggestions you have posted-I still have no VPN option. My Norton account shows I have an active Norton 360 Premium subscription - BUT THERE IS NO VPN LISTED IN MY ACCOUNT.
I have done a clean install of Windows 11. I signed into my Norton account and downloaded the file to install Norton 360. I installed Norton 360 and rebooted. Version 22.23.3.8 is installed-NO VPN. Ran live update. Rebooted PC. NO VPN.

Used R&R to only remove Norton 360. Downloaded and reinstalled Norton 360. NO VPN. Ran live update and rebooted my PC. NO VPN.

I'm in Thailand and used the Norton Asia website to subscribe. The Asia site shows that the VPN is included in Norton 360 subscriptions. So this is not a geolocation problem.

Any more suggestions before I ask to cancel my subscription and get a refund?

YES! Your Norton does have the VPN. Run live updates on your product and get anything that is offered. Make sure you reboot each time updates are installed. When done your version SHOULD BE 22.23.3.8 which is the latest. Open My Norton again and check for the VPN being present. If its not the next thing to do would be to perform an R&R of your product, do a removal only and restart. Then download and reinstall your product from within your Norton account again.

  • To only remove your Norton device security product, click Advanced Options and then click Remove Only. Pay close attention to step # 5 in the Norton article.

Follow on screen prompts to restart your machine. Afterwards log into your Norton account to reinstall your Norton product and run live updates to install all patches that are available. Make sure you reboot as each patch is installed whether prompted to do so or not. This will ensure the patches are installed separately and completely. Perform a final restart.
