I ld like to add something that i notice lately, norton updates an awfull lot (daily or twice a day i manage to get a succesfull update lately instead of the you are up to date message) like it does not find the last update or it did not stick long enough or was erased???? who knows¿¿¿
not sure if this is even remotely related or even if it s not just me, just thought i ld mention it ;-)
Here is one last thing I would like you to try. I would like you to remove N360 using the Norton Removal Tool, then download the latest version from here, and reinstall it.
Next, can you run Live Update SEVERAL TIMES until no more updates are available. Restart your PC when prompted and run Live Update again as above.
Can you try this and let us know if it fixes the problem?
Thank you for the assistance. I've now reinstalled version 2.3.1.4 and it all appears to be working! I have advised tech support of the resolution. Thanks for taking the time to look at this problem and offer solutions. I'll keep you posted on progress.
Best wishes,
Ruari
For others in the same boat, we were using version 1.3.2.4 Norton 360 which was causing all of the above mentioned problems. Installing version 2.3.1.4 has resolved the issue for us (and it wasn't difficult).
Recently, when viewing info on my automatic quick scans I noticed the issue of only a handful of items being scanned. I attempted to run quick scan manually with the same result.
I uninstalled 360, and installed version 2.3.1.4 yesterday.
The initial automatic quick scan performed after install scanned all items, but today it has gone back to scanning 1 item.
I ran live update until no new updates were found and restarted my computer. Manual quick scans seem to be scanning correctly, but should I be trying anything additional to make sure my auto quick scans that run daily run correctly?
You have posted the same as a separate thread, and I replied to it in that thread. As you see another contributor had the same problem and posted that it was resolved by a reinstallation. I am surprised since I do not think this results from a faulty installation.
I renewed my subscription to 360 early in hopes to resolve by uninstalling 360 and renewing/upgrading to version 2. I didn’t have any problems with the installation.
I have the same version of 360 as the poster above and am experiencing the exact same problems scanning. It even started on the same day(Tues.). I'm just waiting for a response from the support team. Until this all started I had no problems at all with 360. Hopefully a solution can be provided soon.
