So my 360 stopped working and was being completely inactive and i couldn't open the program or anything so I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it but it will not accept the activation code anymore and wil only let me use the trial version. What am I supposed to do, I had it working for 3 weeks already before it froze up but I own the disc and have the key so why shouldn't I be able to reinstall it on the same computer?

Hi Merlinator
Is your subscription still good since you are trying to install an old version?
How did you reinstall Norton 360? Is it from the CD that you have or you downloaded it? What is the flavour of your Norton 360? Is it standard or Premier? What happens when you enter the Product Key? Do you receive an "Invalid Product Key" message? What is the first character of your Product key? Is it the letter "T"?
Vineeth--
I did use the norton removal tool, and my 1 year subscription was new as of december 30th 2009. I have not run any other scans for malware (not sure where to find these). I installed it via cd and it is Norton 360 2.0. When I enter the product key it appears to processing it and then brings me right back to where I have to enter it again on the trial version. The first letter of my product key is T yes...
thanks all for you assistance.
Try installing Malwarebytes free version. Download, install, update and run a full scan. You will be able to attach the log by using the add attachments link below on the left.
Hi Merlinator,
Please download the free version of Malwarebytes from this link:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php
If you have got malware which is trying to prevent you from downloading it from the site above, please go to this download location:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
Install Malwarebytes, launch the program and go to "Update"; click on "Check for Updates" and let it download the definition files. Then go to "Scanner" and have it run a full scan.
When Malwarebytes has finished the scan, it will automatically generate a log in a Notepad file, which will pop up on your screen after the scan. On this window of the Notepad file, please go to "File", then to "Save as"; type in a name, save the file to, for instance, your desktop, then post it over here by using the "Add Attachments" feature underneath the orange "Post" button when you write your next post.
To delete what Malwarebytes has found, click on “Show Results” after scanning has finished. Ensure that the threats picked up by Malwarebytes are marked with a tick, then click on "Remove Selected".
Also, the latest version of Norton 360 is currently version 3.5. However, first check your computer for malware with Malwarebytes, then we'll see further .-)
Moved to own thread for better exposure.

Can you log in to Your Norton Account to see what date it gives as the 'Expiration Date of your N360 Also if you click the little ‘down pointing triangle’ on the left, it will give tou the Product Key No. you have registered. You can check this against the one you’ve got. If you can’t get to the ‘Your Account’ using Norton window – My Account – Access Norton Account , try the link below. https://www.mynortonaccount.com/amsweb/default.do
I have attached the malware log. It found 3 files as you will see. When I log into my norton account it has no record of my purchased software, although I did not buy it online but at a store.
