Norton 360 Reports False Positives in MSI Files

Norton 360 v5.1.0.29

Any idea how to turn this PITA false warning off would be appreciated: Norton is reporting false positives in a vendor's msi file, complaining the compressed file contains threats. I've tried to send the file through the formal false-positive reporting process, but it is too large. The tool represented by the msi in question is used to build Windows app installations and ocassionally, those are also reported as problematic and deleted as the build process finishes. I've indicated that I trust the suspect file and Norton continues to popup these @#$@# Action Required messages.

The drop-downs in the Action Required dialog only offer "delete". I think they need an option like "leave this file the hell alone" or "mind your own freaking business" or a couple of other choice options which I won't mention. The "manual" for 360 is useless for anything but how to install 360 and that's pretty obvious. I'm tempted to uninstall 360 and look for a competitive product with a more intuitive interface.

Thank you in advance to anyone who can offer a more meaningful suggestion on how to resolve this situation.

I've gone into settings and excluded the file itself first - that didn't work and then I excluded the folder containing the file - which also has not worked. SONAR is already told not to automatically remove Risks because it was too problematic.

It seems the file SONAR is at issue with is vmdetect.exe, which must be used by the installation builder tool.

Still stuck in the mud, but thank you for the tips to try.

Best Regards.
