Norton 360: Unable to run Diagnostic report

Dear One and All. I have recently opted to run Norton 360 and downloaded the relevant software etc, but since its installation have been unable to run either the Diagnostic Report or the Registry Cleanup. I have had some 3 telephone conversations with so-called experts out in India, but nobody has been able to resolve this situation. Everything else within the programme runs OK. Has anyone any knowledge of the relative Registry entries that link to the 2 problems, that I may need to amend to correct this matter.

Regards from the UK David

Yaso.

Thanks for your quick response. I am using version 3.5.2.11 and I use Windows XP Pro version 3 32 bit

I’ll ask Yogesh_Mohan, one of our Norton wizards, to have a look at your issue - he is currently offline (time zone differences) but will probably log in later

Hi dsc8w,

Let us know what exactly happens when you try to run the Diagnostic Report or the Registry Cleanup. Are you getting any error message?

Also, let us know if you have any system maintenance program or any other security program installed.

Yogesh

Yogesh. Sorry but could you be a bit more explicit in what you are looking for. The Diagnostic Report produces a screen with a yellow bar across it, but only moves about say 10% across and goes no further. The Registry report states it cannot find a System resore point.

I am also using Tune Up Utilities 2010, which is an excellent programme.

David

Hi dsc8w,

Can you try creating a windows restore point and then try running the registry clean up from the product.

-KrisL

Kris L. This has already been tried without success by the so-called experts out in INDIA.

David

Did you try creating new Windows User Account with Administrator privilages and then run the registry cleanup by logging into the new account?

Yogesh.

I am the sole user of my computer and already login with Admin. usages.

I'm sure someone can advise me whereabouts within the Registry to look for the relative entries and adjust where neccesary.

David
