Does Norton 360 protect Firefox email addresses?
Several people in my email address book were sent emails in November 2013 purporting to come ffrom me. I contacted BT who told me to change my BTInternet password, so I did.
In January this year I have received replies from three addresses, my email address having been given as the original sender. Have changed my BTInternet password again.
Have just updated to the 2014 version. Is there anything that Norton 360 can do about this?
Also, indicative of something weird happening, is that every time I boot up Norton advises me that it has found Suspicious.Cloud.9 (which I believe leads to Kmsemulator) and fixed it. Why, having found it once, does Norton not knock it on the head forever?

Hi,
Your Norton protectioin is confined to your computer. If your address book is on the FF site it cannot be protected by your security software. My recommendation would be to remove any and all addressbooks that are on other sites and keep them on your computer. There are several free email client programs that you can also place on your computer to keep both your messages and your address book safe.
If the infection continues to reappear it means that Norton is cleaning out what it can see but there is more to it. You may need the help of a trained specialist to get to the root of the problem.

How do I find out if my Firefox email address list is anywhere other than in my computer, and where it might have been copied to and how it could have got there?
I am not aware of putting address books on any other sites. The only place I have consciously put email addresses is in the Address Book provided by Firefox in my computer.

Geoff

Geoff.
BT is currently is running with a project to pull all BTINTERNET.COM EMAIL under their own umbrella, because of persistent adverse reports from users. It might aid your dilemma.
Be safe out there ! AK
In my previous entry I said that I was using Firefox email. Shows the state I am in after being hacked - I should have said I was using Thunderbird email.
I hope this may make finding a solution a bit easier.
