Norton 360 v.5: Backup not being recognized, Apparently still at risk. :S

Hi everyone,

I'm running Norton 360 on my Windows Vista Desktop, and have numerous backup sets that I make use of. However, for the last couple weeks, I get the little red cross sitting on top of my Norton icon in the bottom right section of my Vista Toolbar. My backup status has been at risk for the past two weeks, even immediately after running backups. The Norton main screen still says "fix now", even though (I think) there's nothing to fix. :S

When the backup is completed, I do get the caution that "some files were not backed up. Please make sure that all other running programs are closed, then try again". I did try this once (close all running programs), but nothing has changed.

What am I doing wrong? It's rather annoying, as I'd like to know when there's something ACTUALLY wrong with my system, as opposed to Norton 360 falsely telling me something is wrong.

Thanks,

God bless =)

Hi,

can you please tell us the exact version of your Norton product?
1. Open the main window
2. Click on Help & Support -> About menu
3. On the About window find the version number (it will look like this: 5.1.0.29)

Thanks!

Can you please check which files were not backed up?

This will cause your problem and it will be the solution for you as well to somehow finally backup them, or remove these from the backup set.

Yeah, turns out that was the problem. I'd changed USB sticks, and the drive letter changed, so it wasn't backing up at all.

Turns out Norton was doing it's job, I just couldn't figure out what was wrong.

God bless =)
