Norton 360 v21 still incompatible with Windows 8.1

Hi ,

I installed the latest Norton 360 v21 on Windows 8.1 and i caused me a BSOD 2 times . Also, my boot times are very slow .

So isn't Norton 360 v21 still compatible with Windows 8.1 ?

I' ve downloaded 20.1.0.24 Dixons 366 MRF 8079 and it's definitely still not compatible. I get an error message saying that there are known compatability issues if I try to install it.

Hi DavidPe,

the Doxsopns threw me at first but I believ Dixons (aka Currys I believe)) is a chain sotre and with the 20.1.0.24 it implies an older version of N 360 - version 20 is from the 2013 products.  20.4.0.40 is the latest v 20 version, so it is not even current as a V 20 product.

As Mohan stated:  You have to have the latest Norton 360 build 21.1.0.18 on your Windows 8.1.

Since you currently have 20.1.0.24 installed, go to Support > New Version check and see if ti wil download version 21.  If it does, then you must update it via LiveUpdate to 21.1.0.18.

Now that said I am curious if Dixons has a similar setup to Best Buy int eh states that you need to get your updates thru them?  Hopefully someone else knows thatinfo.

I can't install 20.1.0.24 in the first place as it's not compatible and so the option of updating doesn't arise.

I can't download anything else but 20.1.0.24 from the 360 Gold page so there's no way forward there.

I guess I'm going to have to go back to the shop!

Sorry David, I guess I wasn't thinking clearly as you did say you could not install it.  I have seen in the past where Gold presented a problem with trying to acquire downloads, but do not recall the solution.

After some more research, all I could find was the same download link you already have for 20.1.0.24 titled Dixon - I could not find any links for an upgraded version 21.

The store may be the only answer unless  Live chat might be able to help?

Thanks, I’ll try one of those.
