We are glad to announce that we have completed testing our latest inline release of Norton 360 Version 3 and we are ready to release the patches.
To receive the update, simply run LiveUpdate and download the update. A reboot will be required once the update is applied.
To verify you have the update, launch the Main User Interface, click on Help & Support, and select About. The version number of the new release will be 3.8.0.41.

The FAQ below tries to answer some common questions:
1. What is the version number for this patch?
The version for Norton 360 is 3.8.0.41.
Please note that all Norton 360 V3 customers with a valid subscription will receive this update for free.
2. When will I receive the patch?
This patch has completed it's phased deployment, and is now widely available. Run LiveUpdate to download these patches.
3. How can I manually install these patches?
The patches are available only through LiveUpdate.
4. What are the changes in this release?
- For N360 customers, reduced the automatic backups to once per day instead of once per 4 hours.
- Added the ability to seamlessly receive product information messages.
- Fixed a problem with the Reboot Reminder Alert sometimes did not function correctly.
- Fixed a number of minor defects relating to product patches being applied correctly.
this patch also includes the fixes from the 3.5 patch.
The following issues were fixed in the Norton 360 3.5 patch:
- Several Windows 7 compatibility fixes
- Support for migrating Vista to Windows 7
- Fixed issue where Windows Defender was disabled on every reboot
- Norton Toolbar support for Firefox 3.5 in this release, including fixes for IPS Add-on issues
- Fixed LiveUpdate failures caused by hosts running behind a proxy
- Fixed top install failures seen in the field
- Fixed patching issues seen with 16.5 patch
