Norton 360 V4 My Account Access is not opening with internet explorer script error

I have just purchased a Norton 360 V4, installed it and tried to access my account from the product GUI. Previously it was connecting as my internet speed is slow as I think. I installed Adobe 9.0 from CD (previously I had adobe 8.0). I tried to access my account once again but then internet explorer script error message popping up in the screen (I can't say exactly how many messages are coming as it get hanged.)

I have tried system restore many times but it didn't work. Is it because adobe ? Or it is something else.

In script error there is nothing in line, error (blank). When I tried to end the my account window, Symantec Framework Stopped working message was coming.

Kindly help me to get out of this ....

Thanks....

Also I am not able to update the definition, I think this is because the internet speed which I am currently using.

Thanks for our help...

Hello mahesh

Welcome to the Norton Users Discussion Forum

Since you have just installed N360, what was your previous security program and how was it removed? Also what version of N360 do you have installed now? What operating system and service pack level are you using now? Thanks in advance for answering the questions..

Hi mahesh

You will need to disable Norton's Tamper Protection feature to run System Restore successfully.

I am using Vista premium Sp2. Norton 360 V4, previous I was avast (free). Actually I have purchased Norton 360 v4 for 3 PC's. I have installed it on one PC. Do I need to get product key every time when I install it on remaining 2 PC's? If so how to obtain it ?

Symantec Framework stops working when ever I try to end the Norton unaccounted page (who is creating script error) using task manager.

I have ran one click support, it also does not found  any problem with my installation. The script error occurs only when i try to access my account else all other things are worrking normal.

Thanks for your help

Hello mahesh

Please use the removal tool from avast to remove all of that security program. Security programs go deep into your system and add/remove is not enough to clean them out thoroughly.

You wil need your product key to install the program on your other computers. You can get the product key from www.mynortonaccount.com if you have registered your product.

Your problems may be occurring because you did not remove avast thoroughly and therefore didn't get a clean install or else you may have malware on your computer.

Hi thanks for reply... Actually I tried to uninstall Norton 360 using removal tool... but again same message is coming.

When I try to access my account when no internet connection it is working fine (RETRY message appearing) but when I am connected, the internet script error message is appearing when I try to access my account. Even I am not able to activate my online back up storage. Which I have activated from my second computer installation.

Is it bcaz malware ? so how to avoid this error... I have scanned many times but the result is some cookies nothing else.

Is it because of slow internet connection?

A single internet explorer script error appearing with no details (just blank) at that time my internet explorer working fine...

Thanks for your help...

Hello mahesh

Before you installed N360, did you use the Avast removal tool to remove the Avast security program? Here is the link that tells you how to remove Avast from your computer. Please follow those instructions.

http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility

Please come back and let us know if you can run this program and clean out Avast completely. Thanks.

Hi..Thanks for reply....

I have tried it (removed avast using removal tool) but it didn't worked.

Before Avast I have symantec enpoint. Is it bcaz of that. I have removed it from Add/remove program. So is there any tool to remove it ? or it has to be manually removed?

waiting for ur response....

Hello mahesh

Symantec endpoint is from the Corporate dept. We don't have the removal tools for that part of Symantec. You would have to ask for the removal tool from the Corporate Forum. Once you get it from them and run it a couple of times, then we can try removing your N360 and installing that again and see if that fixes up things.

Here is the link for the Corporate Forum

http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums

Please try posting there to get the Removal Tool for Symantec Endpoint and then run it. You can come back here again and let us know how that worked out. Then we can proceed over here again. Thanks.

Can you uninstall Adobe 9.0 and revert to Adobe 8.0?

Since the issue started happening after installing Adobe 9.0, it is better to try this.
