Norton 360 V5 compatibility with Windows Live Mail

I have just installed Norton 360 V5 on my PC. I am using Microsofts "Windows Live Mail 2011" as my mail client. But in the Norton 360 Anti Spam set up pane there is no mention of Windows Live Mail.  Does that mean that Norton 360 does not support Windows Live Mail?

Yoy may not be able to help with this, but ust in case.

I was not able to find where/how I could set up Norton 360 to flag items it thinks are spam/infected. Where would I do that?

I'm responding from a mobile device, so I may not get exact terms or paths right as I can't access a machine with Norton 360 til I get home--but I'm pretty sure I can still get you where you need to go :smileyhappy:

 

For step one, pull up your Norton 360 main screen, select Settings (should be from the menu bar at the top) and choose Anti-spam. From there you should be able to configure how you want Norton Anti-spam to behave.  Since it scans at the e-mail protocol level, only the client integration stuff won't be available to you; the rest (including applying the [Norton Anti-Spam] flag) should work just as well with Live Mail.

 

For step two, go into Live Mail, go to settings, and create a rule that says if a message is marked with [Norton Anti-Spam] then move it to the desired junk mail folder.

 

Let us know whether this works, or you need anything more; we'll be standing by!

Just a thought DistEd2,  there may be some confusion here, Windows Live Mail ( as I originally used in Vista) and Windows Live Mail 2011,(which I use in Windows 7) are totally different programs and I do not believe what you are suggesting applies to Windows Live Mail 2011.

 

There is no spam folders, nor any of that availabel in WLM 2011 that I have found!

Thanks, yank; shouldn't make a difference, though, as you can set up a rule to put e-mail meeting the condition(s) of your choice in any folder you desire--so the OP could dump them straight into the trash or create a folder called "Junk" or whatever else made sense. End result should still be what they're looking for.

But that rule is not make upable (is that a word) in Norton,  it has t be done in the email client.

LOL; correct--but again, that shouldn't matter, as it's not dependent on there being a formal junk mail folder.
