Norton 360 v6 crashing my PC

Hi guys,

I have bought Norton 360 v6 CD ROM and after installing it and upon restarting I get the BSOD and message something like "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent further damage to computer...IRQL_LESS_THAN_OR_EQUAL.......etc." for like 3 seconds and PC restarts and again at windows load screen the same screen comes and cycle continues. I am not able to start my computer because of this.

Earlier I was using Norton 360 v5 for one year and it was working fine throughtout the year. Yes, I also manually removed v5 completly before installing norton 360 v6. I also used NOrton removal tool the second time when this error came (BSOD and IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL error) bofore installing norton 360 v6 the second time. But still the same error comes and my PC restarts.

My PC spec is as follows.

Windows Vista 32 bit Home edition with SP2

Processor Intel Core 2 duo E7400 with 4 GB RAM

500 GB hard disk

If you need any other info please let me know.

I see there seems to be some problem with win vista and norton 360 v6 as few others have also posted similar problems but no solution has been found yet.

Hello gsyndrome,

When the crash is happening, do you see the following files:

1) C:\windows\memory.dmp

2) Files in C:\windows\minidump\

Thanks,

Snehansh

Yes i have those files ..but i m having trouble uploading those files as this site says the files do not have valid extension....

The N360 forum admin will provide directions on where/how to upload shortly.

Thanks.

Hi gsyndrome,

Hi Snehansh and Gayathri,

Norton tech guy already sorted out my issue and my 360 v6 works just fine and I wont be uploading any files. Well Thanks anyway.

Norton even offered me 1 month more of subscription cause of all the trouble. Thanks guys, I was really worried if I had wasted my money and more importantly, the trust in Norton :smileywink:
