Norton 360 Vault Not Working

Happen to notice after the Norton 360 21 update the vault has stopped working properly. When ever i go to log into my vault via N360 or via the Toolbar it stays at Vault Closed & doesn't actually open up to the vault. Only way i can actually get into my vault to retreive passwords especially for websites that have multiple logins for them is to use the web version of the vault.

I've added a screenshot to show what i'm talking about where the 360 vault is actually signed in but it's telling me to enter a password to open it even thought it's unlocked. In my web browser it's telling me thet vaults open but that too isn't popping up to open the vault.bandicam 2014-01-04 16-22-36-102.png

Good news/bad news. The current versions of the Norton products do not have the local vault any more. There is only the vault in the cloud. Depending on how you installed the current version, over the previous version or not, will determine if you can recover your local vault.

The change has not been well accepted. If you want to add your voice to the subject the product suggestion forum

No that's the thing i know there has no longer been "local" storage for the identity safe as that was moved to the online storage back around N360 V19 i think but the problem i tried pointing out in my OP is that the "online" storage for identity safe is not coming through Norton 360 like it did b4. My identity safe on my PC is signed into my online storage but the safe is not accessing the cloud storage & just keeps asking for password to access the vault. Only access i have to the online vault since the N360 21.1.0.18 update is to go to the identity safe website & access passwords that way. B4 the update u could access the online vault via any web browser w/the norton toolbar or via Norton 360's identity section.

If u go to manage idenity protection & then configure identity safe if askes for ur password to access the online vault but the vault never opens it just gives you the vault close as previously posted. The only way atm to access the Idenity Safe is either the website in a browser or by clicking on Identity Safe Online that's highlighted in yellow.

A few comments/questions:

 

Your screenshot makes it appear that you are Logged into your ID Safe as it states "Logout of Identity Safe".

 

Did you block out your email address behind Signed in as:??

 

Have you click on View Details and seen if it says ID Safe is ON?

 

How did you upgrade to V 21? 

 

Have you clicked on Show Password Hint and used the password for the hint?  Does the int match the password you are using?

 

Have you selected Support > Get Support from the main page of N 360 and seen if it fixes anything in your install or perhaps reports an error code?

 

I may have missed it, but can you tell us which browser this does this with and also your operating system?

Blacked out the Sign In as cuz it was my personal email address.

the problem started on FF 26.0 & i'm running N360 V21.1.0.18 on Win 7 SP1 Ultimate 64 bit.

Seems to be working now for some reason as i'm typing this & the Vault is working again in both FF26 & IE11 but & there's a but when u go to configure the vault via N360 nothing opens up it just says Vault Closed. Who knows maybe it'll sort itself out at some point but it's working again in the toolbar. It's one of those it's a catch 22 cuz it's half working & half not working.

Did you try the Support > Get Support suggestion?

I got the vault to work again but seems in order to do that i had to uninstall & do a fresh install of norton 360 since it got messed up i guess after the servers acted up for me after the 21 update.
