Norton 360 ver 26.0.0.260126066 opens and closes

Product & version number: Norton 360 26.0.0.260126066

OS details: Android 10

Detailed description: Today, 1/28/2026, Norton 360 got updated on my Lenovo tablet. Right after it installed I opened it and it shows Fix button where there is usually the Scan button and above it is message my device is not protected. But before I can click the Fix button app closes. I tried everything recommended in old post for this issue – including unistall app, restart and reinstall – but app continues to close seconds after it opens. It also shows a yellow splash screen while it attempts to open.

Is there a way I can install the previous version from Google Play so I can be protected in the meantime while waiting for tech team to fix this issue?

There is no way to get a previous version of the mobile apps.

When you did the uninstall/reinstall, did you restart the device before the reinstall? If not, give that a try as it ensures all caches and data have been removed.

Den er fuld af fejl den version den har kun en bedre vpn

Yes I uninstalled app, restarted device, reinstalled app and even restarted device again after reinstalling app.

I researched with Microsoft Copilot. It lead me to determine that on my Lenovo tablet the Android System WebView is version 143.* and is managed/locked down by Lenovo*.* The device no longer gets OS updates. Chrome updated and is version is 144.*. Chrome and Firefox and other apps still seem to be working okay. Copilot also gave me steps how to install a previous version of Norton 360 – get APK from trusted site and side-load the app – and how to prevent app updating after the older version is installed. I have not yet done that.

All: The issue appears to be the new versions of Norton for Android MAY no longer support Android 10? There are some conflicts with that as well. My references:

Official Norton documentation still states Android 10 IS still supported:

Thanks for the heads up SoulAsylum.

I’m going to try installing version that worked on my Lenovo tablet. Also I had older backup phone and it fails to run latest version so on my primary phone I set Norton 360 not to install latest verion.

My main phone is Moto with Android 11. It has Norton 360 version 5.127.2.251217989. It has Chrome version 144.* and Android System Webview version 144.*
My backup phone is Moto phone with Android 10. It had same version of Norton 360 before it update to new version. It has Chrome version 144.* and Android System Webview version 144.*
Microsoft Copilot told how to scan an APK with Norton 360 version 5.127.2.251217989 on my main phone, before I install it on my backup phone.
It offered several methods that didn’t work. I’m left with a Install-time scan – click the APK and wait for Norton 360 to do a deep scan.
Copilot said after the scan click Cancel instead of Install (since I don’t want the APK to install on my phone that already has the working version of Norton 360).
Has anyone ever used version 5.127.2.251217989 to install an APK and and/or can confirm Norton 360 will do a scan if an APK install is attempted and allow to cancel the install even if the scan is clean?
Copliot also said downloaded files are scanned automatically by Norton 360. Can anyone confirm this and also tell me if it is a deep scan or not?
