Norton 360 Version 2.0 cannot be installed to new PC

Hi,

I just renew the Norton 360 Version 2.0 (All-in-One Security) for 12 months( from 20 January 2010  to 20 January 2011) .  I have been using this Norton 360 Version 2.0 for two Desktop PCs at home. But a few weeks after I renewed the subscription, one very old PC was not working so I replaced it with a new PC which has Window 7. When I tried to install Norton 360 Version 2.0 to this new PC and it has error and it could not be installed because it has Window 7.

Because my current Norton subscription still got another 10 months before it expire, and it can be used for up to 3 PCs per household, how can I get another Norton 360 Version that can be used in Window 7. Also how can I add/include my current subscription to this new Window 7 compatible Version so I don’t have to buy a new Norton version for Window 7 for my new PC.

Thanks.

Hi mmwoon,

Norton 360 version 4 is fully compatible with Windows 7. Please do the following to install version 4 on your Windows 7 machine and transfer your subscription to it:

Depending on which edition of Norton 360 you have got, please download the correct edition of Norton 360 version 4 from the appropriate link below and save it to your desktop:

Norton 360 Standard Edition version 4 (English)
http://liveupdate.symantec.com/upgrade/N360-ESD-17-5-0-127.exe

Norton 360 Premier Edition version 4 (English)
http://liveupdate.symantec.com/upgrade/N360-PREMIER-ESD-17-5-0-127.exe

You will also need your Norton product key in order to activate Norton 360; during activation, your subscription days will be picked up automatically by Norton 360. You can fetch your product key from your Norton account:
http://www.mynortonaccount.com/
You can also find your product key on the CD sleeve.

During activation, a notification may pop up saying that you have exceeded the number of allowed activations. If this happens, please contact Symantec Customer Support, and they will reset your activations for you. You can chat with them for free over here:
http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

Note: the only difference between the Standard and Premier editions is the amount of online storage space, which is 2 GB for Standard and 25 GB for Premier.

Also, please make sure to remove any preinstalled antivirus software from your Windows 7 computer before you install Norton 360.

Please tell us how it goes - thank you :-)

Hi,

Thanks for your advice. It worked well and now I can use the Norton 360 to the new pc. :smileyhappy:

But I remember with the old PC( 360 version 2), when the search results appeared after a google search, it used to show a green tick or Red cross at the end of each site ( similar to the result list that are come up after using a Norton Safe Search), but now in google search result page there is no green tick/red cross after each websites. How can I know which site is safe? - Also, soon after I installed the Norton 360 version 4 to this new pc, I had a Norton tool bar at the top of the Internet explorer window( under the google tool bar), I accidently disabled it. Now I cann't add it back.

Please advise me how to get the green tick/red cross appear after each website from a google search results page.

Thanks.

In Internet Explorer, go to View > Toolbars and select Norton Toolbar. This will enable the Norton Toolbar in the Internet Explorer. Then check whether Safe Web is on, you can find the option under the Norton Toolbar. Close and re-open the Internet Explorer. Let us know the results.
