We have Norton 360 Version: 3.5.2.11 installed on 2 identical PCs, both running Vista Home Premium SP2. We have always done Manual backups to DVD on my PC, and Manual backup to CD on my husband's. Today, when my husband tried to run a backup to CD as he normally does, he no longer had the option to backup to the CD/DVD drive in the "Where:" tab of the backup settings menu. The only options listed are Online Storage, Recovery Drive, and the Main drive. Inserting a blank disk into the cd/dvd drive prompted the autorun window, but no change in the Norton 360 options - still no option to backup CD/DVD disc.
On my PC, the CD/DVD drive is still selected as the destination for my backups. However, when I try to run a backup with a blank disc in the drive, I receive the error "Failed:Drive not found."
Both CD/DVD drives are working for other applications. Full System Scans, System Cleanup, and Live Update have been run in Norton 360. Advice appreciated.
Thanks for the response Yogesh. Your link gives me a blank page, but I remember seeing another link to the GEAR drivers here on the forum, and will try it. I'll update with results. Thank you again.
Edited to say that the other link I found here also led to a blank page, but I was able able to find this link from the Support search engine by searching for GEAR driver:
Norton 360 Version 3.0 does not recognize the CD or DVD drive when you start Backup
Back soon with update.
Oookay, now this link is leading to a blank page as well, as does the search for GEAR driver from the support page...will try again later.

Seema like there are a bit problems with these articles. I will check that. Meanwhile, please download Gear drivers from the link:
http://www.gearsoftware.com/downloads.php?dir=updates/windows/drivers/&file=Driver_Installer_x86_x64.exe
1 Download it to the desktop.
2 On your Windows desktop, double-click the Driver_Installer_x86_x64.exe file.
3 When the Open File - Security Warning appears, click Run. If the User Account Control alert appears, click Allow.
4 In the GEAR driver installer window, click Next.
5 Read the License Agreement, click I accept the terms in the license agreement, and then click Next.
6 Enter the User Name and Organization, and then click Next.
8 When you see the message "The InstallShield Wizard has successfully installed GEAR driver...", click Finish.
9 Restart the computer.
Vineeth--
Downloading and installing the GEAR drivers resolved the issue, and I was able to run my backups to CD and DVD. I'm surprised that the GEAR driver download hasn't been added to the Top Tech Issues section of the support page, though I can't say for sure that its not part of the I need help configuring backup in Norton 360 Version 3.0 section, as that link also leads to a blank page at the moment.
Thank you Yogesh and Vineeth for your time, attention, and resolution of my problem. It's greatly appreciated! Have a great day and thanks again!
