Norton 360 version 4.0 VS. Norton Internet Security 2011 and Norton Utilities

Hello, I was just looking for any thoughts any of you may have on the advantages of one of these programs over the other.

As far as I can tell, the functionality of 360 version 4.0 includes all the features of Internet Security 2011 and includes backup, but Internet Security seems to have a better look/feel to its interface and is more customizable and Norton Utilities does the maintanence/optimzing tasks of 360 with more detail and user control.

Assuming that the cost differences arent a major concern, what are the any advantages of buying a combination of Internet Security 2011 and Norton Utilities over just buying 360 version 4.0?

What are the advantages of buying 360 instead of the other 2 programs (besides the backup and the fact that it is one program instead of two)?

Thanks in advance for any thoughts, feedback or advice here.

Hi,

Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities are designed for advanced users, who (most of the times :P) knows what they do, what can be cleaned, removed, etc.

While Norton 360 is designed for the "not-so-techie" users, who only needs to configure the program once, and then let it run and it will do everything automatically.

You can try all program's trial version:

- www.norton.com/nis11 (Norton Internet Security 2011)

- www.norton.com/n360s_4 (Norton 360 4.0)

- www.norton.com/nu15 (Norton Utilities 15)

Let us know if you have any other question. :)

Hello Johnny_Dingo and welcome!

You seem to have a good understanding about the Norton products and PapauZ's comments sum up the differences.

One thing I should mention is that each year, when the new product line is introduced, traditionally it is NIS which is updated first followed a few months later by Norton 360.  So if you want to have the latest security enhancements and features, then NIS would be the choice.  Whichever Norton product you choose, you are always eligible to update to the newest version of that product at no charge.

Hope that helps!

Thanks very much to both of you for your help. Much appreciaited!
