I now have Norton Internet Security which will expire on 7 Oct and Norton Online Backup which will expire on the same date too. I am thinking of downloading the Norton 360 30 days free trial. When should I do that? When my Norton Internet Security expires? Will I still need Norton Online Backup with the Norton 360. I note that the Norton 360 has some storage space but what if I need more space?
Hi veron808
Norton 360 has two versions standard that allows 2gb of on line storage and premier that allows 25gb of on line storage; I think you can buy extra storage. It might be worth considering renewing your NIS and buying more online storage. Check the web for norton deals as it is sometimes cheaper than purchasing through Norton, then one day before your subscription expires click renew and enter the new key you have.
As NIS is a different product to 360 you will need to perform the tasks below, one day before your NIS subscription expires.
You might like to backup the personal data and you’ll need to backup or export in both formats your identity safe and any other users identity safe if it is used as well as saving a copy of your online data to hard disc, before doing the below.
Use the process below to remove your previous security programme. You’ll need to download and save the removal tool from the security software’s main website or use the singularlabs website on the link below and choose from the list.

Norton removal tool.
Uninstall using windows add/remove programme.
Restart the computer.
Run the removal tool.
Restart the computer.
This process should be done for each security software to be uninstalled, meaning one at a time.

The price of renewing both NIS and NBU might be the deciding factor for your decision. You need to factor in the amount of storage you are using for NBU. As intesec notes, extra storage can be purchased for 360. Add that cost to your initial 360 purchase to make your decision.
Note that the two backup programs are not compatible with each other, and you will need to retrieve your data from NBU before that subscription expires if it is not already on your system.
