Hi All

haha... me too! I didn't even notice that the system-wide contextual menus are working faster... but now that you mention it, I haven't had to wait for them...
I've also had very slow right clicking lately. It's also back to normal.
I also have an ssd and since i removed antitrack my computer is back to normal and no problems so i am certain as well it was antitrack.
Another issue I had has gone as well, as 360 being slow my right click was slow as well and strangely that is back to normal.
I have SSD. I’m fairly certain issue is antitrack. It’s working no problems since I removed it.
Hi @Steve_daltrey,
Maybe a track in addition to the elements brought by @SoulAsylum, do you use an HDD or SSD hard drive?
I also recently had a big slowdown in my computer which was due to a total saturation of my HDD disk.
I couldn't identify if it was related to Norton 360, Norton Utilities Ultimate, Norton AntiTrack or Firefox. All appear to be with the latest upgrades to power-hungry HDD drives.
But I did a gosht from my HDD to an SSD and my comp went away.

Steve. If you want to stop Norton Utilities from starting up with Windows, deselect the "Enable scheduled scans" box in the Scheduler Settings window. Reboot for the settings to take effect. Recheck your performance status.

Yes I have Norton Utilities installed and presume it starts with windows as never disabled it.
Yes. It sounds like we have the exact same setup. I've been DYING!
It literally is blocking DNS requests. I have to disable Norton's Firewall to get anything done! It takes it sometimes HOURS till it lets an updated program through. Sometimes it never does. Disabling firewall, then running the program let's it work. Re-enable while still running program... it seems to not block it. But if you restart the app that isn't getting through, you'll have to disable firewall again.
I have another post about this several months ago...

but never figured it was AntiTrack. I can confirm that almost instantly after uninstalling AntiTrack (even before the reboot) the Norton interface and all problems with DNS went away.
As to Norton's interface... it would sometimes take 15 minutes for the disable firewall prompt to show up... It would take almost 4-5 minutes usually for Norton's main interface to display. If I clicked on the "X" to close the window, it would take several minutes to close the window.....
The only fix I found was to use Remove and Reinstall tool. But after about 3 days it would start acting stupid again. And it would just get worse and worse and worse...
I really hope a fix is found....
Do either of you have Norton Utilities installed, AND, set to load with Windows when it boots? The question was posted earlier without a response. Thanks.

ME TOO!!!!!! It's been driving me bananas!
A little update since removeing Norton Anti Track Norton 360 is a lot better .
Thanks for the post back. I understand that you also have Norton Utilities installed as well? I have to ask, is there a reason for or should I say the need to use the tools present in NU? Windows 10 on its own does an awesome job of maintaining system health on its own. NU to me would be a bit overkill in that respect. Is NU loading with Windows? If so disable that and reboot. See if your performance marks improve.

Win 10pro 21H2 Norton 360 latest with utilities
I did have Anti Track which I have uninstalled it and seems better that may of been the issue.
No malware or viruses detected.
Thx Steve
Steve, a bit more information would help us help you.
- What is your OS and its version.
- What Norton product is installed and its version.
- Have you had any indications of malware on the system recently?
Try using Task Manager to see what programs are using you CPU, memory, disk and GPU. You have to watch when the slow opening occurs to try to track down what is happening.
