In August 2008 I had a Symantec Chat for my support agent to uninstall Norton 360 Version 2.3.1.4. I asked him to remove all traces. We both forgot about the Backup I created on my D: drive, but I see it takes up 20 GB. I can't delete it in Windows XP.
Let me be clear: I am a former Norton user, and I'm just trying to get back the 20 GB of drive space, or most of that space.
I have seen several related posts on this forum, where Norton users had similar problems and couldn't delete the Backups. I haven't finished reading all those topics, but several users failed, so I am not optimistic.
My situation is unique, since I'm a former Norton user. I don't care if some part of the 20 GB can't be read by Norton. I just want my disk space back.
Is there a realistic chance I can fix this without taking high risk steps, like editing my registry?
