Norton 360 wont open, uninstall or scan

Basically what the title says. I have Norton 360 V4 Premier Edition PC Attach version.

 

i bought a laptop only about 1 week ago.

Windows 7 Home Premium edition, installd my norton and it worked. i shut down my computer normally and the next day it wouldnt open. i clicked scan, nolthing happens, try to open it, i get a loading bar on my screen that dosnt  not move, i try uninstall and it still wont open.

I also added Itunes and it wont connect to the store but in safe mode it works. maybe norton is blocking the connection. opens in safe mode but wont scan. internal error 0x8007045a. 3038:104. went to support and tried to download removal tool and other exe.s forums said to use but internet wont let me download it. it says no connection when clearly i have a connection.

 

I need help please and i have given you everything i knew,

oh and also my windows security thinks i have no virus protection so it gives me the option to look to buy another product online. but i have all the files on my computer. and an i icon on my desktop.

Hi, I dont know if you sorted this out, but I have exactly the same problem......any help appreciated. Have yopu been in touch with Norton?

Is it possible that either one of you have a malware infection on board?

 

What products were on your machine prior to the installation of N360?  How were they removed?

 

What products are being offered by your "Windows Security?"  Is this a popup?

no my windows defence thing isnt a popup its the proper one in my control panel on win 7.

no other programs have been installed or removed before installation of my Norton 360 coz the laptop was brand new and norton was the first thing i put on it.

 

The only program i put on my computer after installing norton was itunes and it wouldnt let me connect to the store coz apparently i had no connection but everything else reqwuiring a connection would still load.

Many new laptops come preloaded with various antivirus programs.  Please check to see if this is the case with you.  If you do a search under iTunes you will find some others with the same problem and some suggestions to try.

when i installed norton it went through and found a norton trial so it uninstaled. the only other thing on there is my windows defender and firewall that is part of win 7. no additional software.

Try to boot your computer in Safe Mode with Networking, and then try to download the Norton Removal Tool from the following link:

http://www.symantec.com/nrt


You can try running the removal tool in Safe Mode itself. If you are still unable to download the Norton Removal Tool, you can try to uninstall Norton 360 via Uninstall a Program (Control Panel) in Safe Mode.

thanks guys i just took it back to where i got and he removed it and i reinstalled it and works fine thanks,
