This is probably because GMail calls the input text box EMail rather than username.

It used to work in remembering Gmail ID’s and PW…but now it doesn’t

Part of it is that you may have "Clear Private Data" checked on for each time you exit Firefox. Which Norton 360 turns ON by default. IF you go to Settings>Quick Controls you will see Firefox listed at the bottom, UNcheck it. Then go back to your Firefox to Tools>Options>Privacy> and check the option "Ask me before clearing private data". That should help your FF remember passwords and everything else again.

I found it totally by accident. Doesn't do it in IE just in Firefox.

My question is only concerning Norton’s memorizing passwords and ID’s not Firefox.  I don’t want firefox remembering any pw’s or Id’s.

Well, I'm sorry but from the way you phrased your question, it sounded as if you wanted help with both Norton and Firefox remembering. Since Norton interferes with Firefox remembering, I was just trying to help.

You may wish to try clearing any Gmail login information you have stored in Identity Safe, attempt to login again, and check to see if it prompts you to save the login information as it used to do. Which URL are you using to login?

I have Norton 360 v.2. It has a "auto-fill in" for ID's and passwords that pops up and asks for every log-in site except Gmail.

I'm using Firefox.

How do I get Norton to ask for ID and PW when I want to access gmail while using Firefox?

hi RS - i noticed the same thing. i don't know a fix, but there is a FF add-on called g-mail manager that is outstanding and includes features above and beyond ID and password. Take a look:
