I bought a brand new Alienware gaming laptop this week, the highest end they make. I run Norton yesterday and it tells me I have 22 outdated drivers and over a gig of ‘dead’ data. How is this possible? Is Norton a scam? I can’t accept that driver summary nor am I going to mess with my brand new laptop? Any advice?
do you got the 24.xx version then i think i now what the problem is there is a bug in the norton utilities there is fixing it it is comming in the next 25 days possible and it is possible that bug you got you has to remember the reasen the 24 is comming is becurse they now run on the same code easyer to work whit but the bug is also more the same but it is nice but there are also more thing they is changing som licens thing is changing and also som other thing but i dont now all but it can also be you do not a has disable the alternativ driver that need always to be disable of securety reasen becurse if it is on then you get it from other then norton
Thank you for that feedback! I’m going to wait a good while before I visit the driver issue again. I’ll check regularly for updates from Norton. Thanks again!
@KennethA_Slocumb Across the forums we recommend not using Driver Updater or Software Updater. Contrary to what others post using these CAN render your device not usable. There are no updates that will fix this coming, I wish others wouldn’t post that they are. These two add-ons have had issues since they were introduced. DON’T use them, they are not prime time ready.

Now I’m glad I waited! Thank you!
You’re most welcome.
