Where did you find the contact information for Norton? If from an internet search, the first results you see are almost never genuine Norton Support. They are other companies that offer support for many different software packages, for a fee. Genuine Norton Support is always free.

You should contact your bank or card issuer to dispute the charge.

I started a chat. The operator sent me to that site. Hope it is not a scam

Sounds like this was a scam site. The official site for Norton Support is here:

Support Link:

Links for support are also found at the bottom on the main forums page upon entry.

JustAnswer is an online question-and-answer platform that connects users with verified professionals, including doctors, lawyers, mechanics, and veterinarians.

How It Works

  • Ask a Question: Users post specific queries across various categories such as legal, medical, or technical support.
  • Expert Matching: The platform matches the user with a vetted professional available 24/7.
  • Chat and Solve: Users can communicate via text, chat, or phone until their issue is resolved.

Membership and Costs

  • Subscription Model: While some ads may suggest low one-time fees (e.g., $1–$5), the service typically enrolls users in a recurring monthly subscription for unlimited access to experts.
  • Member Perks: Membership includes 24/7 unlimited Q&A, access to a dedicated mobile app, and occasionally free phone consultations.

Important Considerations

  • Recent Legal Issues: In January 2026, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) filed a lawsuit against JustAnswer and its CEO, alleging the company deceives consumers into “costly recurring monthly subscriptions” without clear consent.
  • Mixed Reviews: While many users report high satisfaction and quick resolutions, others have complained about unexpected billing charges and difficulty cancelling subscriptions.
  • Expert Vetting: The platform uses a multi-step quality process to verify the licenses and credentials of its +12,000 experts.

To manage or cancel a JustAnswer membership, log in to the website, go to “My Account,” select “Membership,” and choose “Cancel”. In the app, tap “Account” > “Manage Membership” > “Cancel”. Alternatively, contact customer support via phone or chat to cancel, as trials automatically convert to monthly fees.

How to Cancel JustAnswer Membership

  • Online/Desktop: Log into your JustAnswer account, click on your profile name (top right), select “My Account,” then “Membership,” and finally “Cancel”.
  • iOS/Android App: Open the app, log in, tap “Account” (bottom right), select “Manage Membership,” and tap “Cancel”.
  • Customer Support: If you cannot cancel online, contact JustAnswer customer service directly via phone or chat to request cancellation.

Important Information

  • Refunds: Charges for questions already answered are generally non-refundable.
  • Trial/Membership: Free trials and one-time questions often convert into a monthly membership if not cancelled within the trial period or before the next billing cycle.
  • Confirmation: Ensure you receive a confirmation email for your cancellation to prevent future charges.
  • Account Issues: Some users have reported difficulty canceling; if problems persist, consider disputing charges with your bank.

As noted in bjm_'s post above, Just Answer is in no way connected with Norton.

How come I got connected to this site while in chat with NORTON?

I did not know about that site before chating with Norton.

P.S I finally canceled the subscription. But the 190sh are gone with the wind

Have you notified your bank/card issuer to dispute the charge?
