I am trying to educate myself on how Norton works in/with Outlook. I have Norton 360 and Outlook 2016 running on Windows 10. I am becoming frustrated with not being able to find this information on my on. Here is some of the information I am looking for:
1 Do all of the functions the Norton has operating in Outlook fall under the heading of "Antispam"?
2. Is there a Norton tool bar for Outlook, if so how do I display and hide it?
3. How do the Norton Antispam functions work with the built in Junk Email Options in Outlook? Will Norton Antispam automatically replace the built in options? Do I need to turn off the built in options if I am going to use Antispam in Outlook? (It seems redundant to keep 2 lists of blocked and safe email addresses and domains in 2 different places). If both are setup and active, which one works first? IE does the built in system review emails first and then Norton reviews them?
4. Do I need to include all the email ports for SMTP in the protected port list? I have multiple POP3 email accounts. All use port 110 but for SMTP there are other ports in addition to 25.
5. Currently Norton seems to catch some spam emails from an address but not others. In fact, it is doing this with some safe addresses that I want to receive email from. In this case most of the emails pass through to my inbox untouched, but the occasional one gets flagged and sent to junk mail. What causes this? There does not appear to be anything about the email that gets blocked that is different from the ones allowed
