I have Norton as my real time protection. I also use malwarebytes (free version) as an on demand extra scanner. I had SpyBot S&D as an additional on demand scanner. It was removed accidentally by my wife. Was thinking of adding it back.
Since its been a long time since I had installed, wondering now if it is ok to have as an on demand scanner with Norton?
I know you can't use the tea timer function, but how does one set it (SBS&D) up so that it is not functioning as a real time product? Tried to read that on their website, but not able to gather that info. I know with malewarebytes the product download is different for the on demand (free) product versus the realtime product
Also I noticed from their website that the download comes from several websites, none of which sound too familiar
Do those in the know feel that SpyBot is not really needed if you use on demand malwarebytes?
You start Resident TeaTimer by clicking on Tools → Resident on the left navigation bar (therefore Spybot-S&D has to run in Advanced Mode). There you can tick the checkboxes next to Resident "TeaTimer" (Protection of over-all system settings) active in order to activate TeaTimer.
Remove the tick if TeaTimer is active....it's an option ....you opt in or you opt out
