Norton Anti-Theft Suggestion for Computers

Hi

I have tried with a suggestion for making a Symantec product a

bit more user friendly and failed badly, so you have to get straight

back up and try again.

NAT is my subject with a suggestion.

I have not got it yet but from what i am reading using both a Windows

password and a the ability to lock the computer from the Norton Account

Anti-Theft website seems pretty dam good for security.

But i think one thing is missing and that is what if you go on a buisness

trip or a holiday and leave a laptop or netbook at home and of course the desktop

PC which will obviously  not fit in the suit case or under the arm.:smileyvery-happy:

So they are all alone at home and vulnerable to any theif to steal.

OK so your windows password should protect the device, but what if you do not

use one. What if instead each time you logon to the computer you have a Norton

Anti-Theft login screen instead now that would be cool.

Because while you are sitting back in the sun relaxing the theif is trying to start and use

your computer with nobody even aware that the computer is missing, maybe for

days or weeks.

So what i am getting at is if Anti-Theft has a computer  login screen maybe after so many

attempts to enter the password the computer locks and the lost devcie locating starts on the

Anti-Theft website and the owner of the computer could be sent a automatic SMS to

inform that the computer has been locked and is now being tracked.

Or i guess a automatic SMS could also be sent to the owner to notify them of the illegal

use of the NAT protected computer  so the could activate  the  Lost Device command by

SMS or i guess the intended method of the web via a smartphone, tablet or PC.

I understand that the person may be on the other side of the world and may not be

able to do much physically, but they can contact a friend or the Police to inform them

of the issue and hopefully track down the thief with your NAT Locked computer.

Just a suggestion it might have already been raised but I searched and could not find

a similar suggestion.

Anyway I hope that helps a good product to get better.

Now I just have to wait to get my hands on it to use with my computers.

Cheers:smileywink:

This could possibly be used with Tablets as well as Smartphones???????
