Norton Anti Virus Crashes During Full Scan-Screen Freezes & PC Unresponsive-Help

Hello, This is my first post.

I have a new Norton Anti Virus 2011 installed on my second PC running Windows XP [SP3] Media Center Edition.

When I start a complete scan, my computer crashes when the scan reaches

C;\Documents & Settings\All Users\Application Data.

The screen freezes & computer becomes unresponsive or sometimes restarts itself and even goes white!

I scanned many files manually and N.A.V. 2011 found 15 Trojan's in "HP Administrator"  / "HP Administrator .Your..."

and quarantined all of them.them.

I also tried scanning just the "All Users" file and it still crashes.

I opened the file using "explore" and scanned every file in "Application Data" backwards from bottom to top knowing it would crash if i just scanned the file and all it's sub files.N.A.V.2011 found nothing?

There is a problem in this file and I don't understand why Norton Anti-Virus doesn't detect it or crashes when it tries to scan it?

Norton Anti Virus completed a few Complete System scans when first installed [about 2 weeks ago ] and found no problems?

I hope someone  knowledgeable can help me get this corrected.

My Brain hurts!

Thanks.......
