I have just installed Norton Internet Security 2012 on my laptop. At the end of the installation all my programmes have been removed, including Norton itself and access to my E drive (DVD drive for reinstalling programmes)!
Having read other comments on the message board about this problem, I have tried the following:
1. Rebooting - I now cannot access this function
2. Restoring to an earlier time - this function is no longer working
3. Reinstalling Microsoft Office programmes using a disc - the E drive is not recognised by the laptop
4. Although my laptop still connects to the internet, I cannot access the internet because none of the links to the internet work anymore (no functional icons or hyperlinks)
I can no longer try reinstalling Norton because of the new issue with access in the DVD drive (my E drive).
To clarify, I had no other anti virus software on the machine and was simply updating from Norton Internet Security 2011. I purchased a disc from PC World - a reputable source.
Can you help with this problem?
