That's cool.  To see NAB on NIS in the future!

Would like adblocking also in Norton Add-on because there are many sites that is infected thru ads e.g. site was mal-vertized without the knowledge of the site owners.

For adblocking try "Firefox" :smileysurprised:

All browsers have a good adblock installed these days

  Check her signature ;-)

I'm Opera user which has feature to block ads also but adblocking by Norton is more easier.  No need to block that, block this. Disable that. Disable this.

I have FF installed also and I'm using noscript etc for it.  If Norton's adblocking (scripts, banners, etc) will help for all browsers.. that will be cool.

True
But I guess the main reason why it isn't installed at the moment is the fact that all browser do have it installed. Maybe if we scream a lot over here it will help ;)

Sorry for the thread hijack but was AdBlocking part of NIS2007?

I thought it was.

Yeah..let's hope they'll consider it. Add-on is separate installer anyway. It should not hurt to add something nice on their add-on pack.
Mr. Rowan wanted suggestion anyway on what to add on their add-on pack :smileywink: I saw it his blog.

If I remember it right… it was included with NIS 2006 and earlier.  They introduced add-on pack with no adblocking with 2007 edition.  Not sure I remember that right.

But I'm now curious about what people think of antibot

Whether ~10% or not.... I think it's good to have Antibot and the like.  NAB is using acceptable memory. Don't want to see it in action though :)

Depends on how. I rather see it in action and see catch it than I don't see it and I later see it missed two bots ;)

What is your opinion on Norton Antibot? Do you think it is needed?

Do you use it?

I've used it since it was released, along with occasional manual scans from Ad-aware and SpyBot.  I also suscribe to the extra layer principal.  It is working to the tune of 46 processes and 283 behaviors, with no hits so far and no problems (that's got to be the good news).  FWIW, aside from occasional mru's, both Ad-aware and SpyBot confirm the lack of events.

Hi,

NortonAntiBot gives an extra layer of security as a behavior detecting application.

I have seen situations were only  NAB has detected a malware.

So for me NAB has proven what it can do.
