I am in between sessions at WWDC so I have to be brief but let's see what I can do:
I have a scheduled scan everyday at 7:00. For two days, the scan did not run nor did it say it ran on the recent items list. The next day it was fine. Also, one time I found the authentication lock on the bottom left hand corner open, but nothing was changed. I ran a full system scan, and everything was fine. Also, whenever I have the lock open, it closes in five or ten minutes. Could this be a real hacker, or is it supposed to do that? Also, I've been lurking on the forums here so I know that there's a Macintosh Staff Member here called Mikeromo. I'd like to ask him a few questions, or any staff member a few questions.
So, we automatically "relock" the app as a security precaution after a few minutes. That's a feature. Are the scans running regularly now?
1. Can you make a feature where it scans the computer for current viruses like it did for Windows?
Whenever we scan the machine we scan it for current viruses--what do you mean?
2. Could you also make a Quick Scan option? Whenever I do a full system scan, it takes between six-eleven hours to finish scanning 390,000 files/applications.
We automatically do a quickscan but if you download new defs, we rescan files that we already scan just in case there's an infection from something in the new defs. To speed things up, turn off "archive/compressed file" scanning. That will speed things up considerably.
3. Are there currently any rootkits or spywares out for Mac Users?
Nope. But if we find spyware, we'll stick it in quarantine.
4. I used to have NIS 2008 For Macintosh, but it was not compatible with my Mac Version. Do you think it is possible that you could put Privacy Controls in NAV 11.0? I know I'd like to ad-block, and doubleclick keeps giving the computer tracking cookies that NAV 11.0 doesn't detect.
Good ideas for features. You may want to look at Norton Confidential for other Identity-protection style features. There are some good ad blocking -- look here: http://safariadblock.sourceforge.net/ -- it's supposed to be great. But stay tuned, we have some stuff coming... ;)
5. Also, the Symantec Security Check doesn't work for me. I meet all of the current requirements. I have Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Safari 3.1.1 and even Internet Explorer 5.2, but it stops in the middle and says that it could not run the Trojan/Hacker vulnerabilities test.
Symantec Security Check only works on Windows, really. I think it utilizes ActiveX, which obviously doesn't work on Macs.

Thanks for replying- both of you. Okay, good. The scans? Yes, and no. Out of nine scans only seven worked, and for the two that didn't work the message that normally pops up in the bottom left corner never did, and there is no tracking that the scans ever even started. Also, two times the scans started at 8:00 instead of 7:00. 5/9 of the scans were perfect, though.
Like, instead of scanning for macro viruses or infected files, it would just scan for viruses currently on the computer. Kind of like the Windows version of NAV 2008, or the Windows Free Virus Scan of the Symantec Security Check. I saw a screenshot where Windows users had the option on the Security Check to scan for current viruses and vulnerabilities.
I just did that but it slowed it down five minutes. 
Good, because a there's a new spyware out. I found it on a computer in my computer class. And to enter, you have to sign a forum to NOT download things. The symptoms were:
----New file, looks suspicious
----Has .exe in it
----When clicking IE, brings you to random different homepage, usually inappropriate
----Today I googled it, an sure enough, over eight popular spyware sites detected it
It's called Babylon.exe, and it's a translater. Just thought I'd inform you, as there seems to be no Virus Defs for it yet.

By the way, the ad-blocking site said that it didn't have a version for my Macintosh version. Someone told me to copy and paste a code in TextEdit, then go to Prefrences and Advanced and then switch stylesheets, but it wouldn't let me do that.
Also, when I restart the computer and open NAV, the lock is open, but it wasn't open before I restarted the computer.

The scans are getting really confusing. They might run at any time, not only 7:00. One ran at 11:28, another at 7:38. If they start at seven, it's always 7:05. They might take until 7:55 or 8:00. I cancelled the scan because I don't need it (I never add anything to the file) and because it's glitchy.
By the way, as for Norton Confidential For Macintosh, I'll look into that. Could you please tell me some of the features included?

Well, we do scan for current viruses, but perhaps you mean for us to JUST scan for the latest viruses? You know, I asked my dev team about that and they said we wouldn't see that much (if any) of a speed increase if we did that. We just did a free engine update, by the way, so you should notice scans going even faster. But I'll be returning to that question for future releases, I promise.

We actually DO do a Quickscan but if you have download a new virus defs, we have to scan everything all over again. Try turning OFF archive scanning, that will speed things up a lot.

No rootkits, but we did just add protection for a keylogger last week. We had four threats in less than a week last week, which was interesting.

Actually, we go by a different naming convention on the Mac. The last version of that product was Norton Internet Security 3 for Mac, which was released in 2003. We do have privacy controls in Norton Confidential, which you may want to take a look at. Keep checking with us to see what happens next for Norton Internet Security! Thanks for the feature ideas, we'll definitely keep them in mind...

Thanks for pointing this out. SSC does not completely work with the Mac since it relies on ActiveX controls. We'll work to make that more clear on the site itself.

A few new questions, if you don't mind. When I updated my Virus Defs to add the keylogger protection (OSX.Klog.A), where it says how many viruses you're protected by, that only went up one when I got protected from ten viruses. The next two updates, the number (34,800, I think) got lowered each update, with the text still showing. Each Virus Def, am I getting less and less protected?
By the way, thanks for releasing NAV 11.0.1 and new Vulnerability Protection and Virus Defs!

I updated my NAV 11.0.1 using LiveUpdate, and found that the normal Macintosh HD scan of twelve hours only took around six hours- a big improvement!
Also, Vulnerability detection blocked a "HTTP Malicious Webpage," or something like that. Even though that mostly only affects Windows (Except for Macsweeper and a few more), I'm glad NAV blocked it.
By the way, on the Macsweeper page (Symantec Security Response) it says that it was the first Misleading Application for Mac OS X. A year before that, I had experiences with a misleading application for Mac OS X.
Also, my sister wanted an antivirus, but didn't want a paid one because she says she doesn't need that much protection (she's on a MacBook laptop connected to my desktop) so I got her an antivirus called ClamXav. Would you recommend that? Also, I looked into more Mac antivirus and anti-spywares, and MacScan looks slightly promising. Except, it's reviews say it's bad. Then I saw iAntiVirus, avast! Mac Edition, VirusBarrier x5, and Sophos Antivirus, which all looked okay, but I like my Norton.
