Ok , I had one simple problem but now may have compacted it. I will no longer try to fix it without posting something here first. I received Norton Antivirus 2006 with my purchase of a new Dell Dimension DM061 (Dual core 4300 at 1.80GHz, 2GB RAM running Windows XP). I have always kept my subscription current but must have picked up something because it warns me that my virus definitions are out of date and I need to run Live Update. I do so and can find no new updated definitions.
OK, even when I do find and install a new definition, it doesn't change my warning that my definitions are outdated. If I try a full scan, it warns me that my virus definitions are out of date and the scan will be useless unless I update my virus definitions with Live Update. I do so and find nothing new. ??
Here's where I compound my problem. I downloaded what seems like a version of Norton Antivirus 2009 and it says it deleted all versions of any current Norton product. I don't wish to purchase 2009 if I can continue to subscribe to my ol' 2006 version.
I won't mess with anything until I hear from someone here.
