I'm using Norton Antivirus 2009 with the latest definitions and the virus still got me. well Norton did removed the virus anyways but also removed most of my system registry thus disabling all my system tools like my defrag, administrative tools, on/off restore point etc.
and now i can't disable my restore point so that i can remove the virus because i think the virus resides at the system restore point of each hard disk of mine and partitions because norton detects it and deletes it and when i try to see its details it points towards the restore point. so this means it will just keeps coming back and norton just deletes its again then comes back and so on... this is the first time a virus got through to my computer. i think its W32.Imaut.AA, a trojan with no name just file that directs from
w:\system volume information\_restore{e8fa55b-6948-410a-bfad-8bf02c5c40a5}\rp35\a0003626.exe
how would i resolve this? and how would i disable my system restore when its disabled? im using windows xp pro by the way.
