Norton antivirus 2009

I just got 2009 got the updates and clicked on full system scan.4 hour later it is still scaning. With 2008 a full system scan was done on the same pc in under 30 miniutes. Why is this still scaning after 4 hours?Any ideas the scan is working as it shows the volume of files scaned.but why is it so  slow.

Are you seeing the scanned file changed or is it ‘stuck’ on one file? If it is stuck, you may wish to try disabling Compressed Files Scan to see if that helps.

Sorry. It is widows xp pro.2008 was removed automaticaly when i got the free 2009 upgrade and ran it from the smantec site.

Is it realy true that 2009 has no firewall? WTF if this is the case i dont want it.This was a free upgrade .how do I get rid of it and get back 2008?

Yes it's true.  Just go to the symantec Online Store and look at the Features.  Een better, just Open Norton AntiVirus 2009 that is on your computer...

Do you have the Disc for Norton AntiVirus 2008, or did you Buy the Download Version?

I bought the download version.Still have 200 days left on it.I went to my noton account online and tryed to download it over.I had saved my product key #.But now it trys to give me 2009 not the original 2008.

Realy not happy.I know i should have check into 2009 further but I just didnt think it would not have a firwall. Why did they not include the firewall on 2009?

What Country are you Located?

And do you have any other Norton Products installed on your computer?

I am in the Us, No i dont have any other norton products on my system.

I would Recommend Downloading Norton 2008, then use the Norton Removal Tool, re-start, then Double-Check on the Downloaded Norton 2008 Product, Install, then you are Safe to Connect to the Internet again.

I want to re-download my Norton 2008 Product: http://solutions.symantec.com/sdccommon/asp/symcu_defcontent_view.asp?ssfromlink=true&sprt_cid=a4191fad-e15a-4ffa-b79d-e79340eb84e9&ln=en_US&seg=hho&lg=en&ct=us&src=gg.

Thanks for the help.have everything back to normal now,

Hey dude, whatever your problem is, I pray to my Lord that you look at this page before spending your money, but download (http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php) or ( http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button )

This is a very good malware scanning tool and you can even remove the malware that gets detected, and you can also download SUPERantispyware ( http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE )

Another great free malware detector and removal tool.

I purchased this in march and last nite it allowed a trojan virus into my lap top which is now going to cost me 235.00 to get out of my computer.

To top it off it,I sit on hold for customer service for a hour and 37 min, untill the battery on my phone went dead. Then it took me 35 min. to be able to get on this forum. And this company has no place to actually contact coustomer service and see if i can get my money back for a junky product. Ive had it for 6 months and paid for the service and now it cant even do its job. What a piece pf junk.

Im sure i will never hear from them to even try to fix their junk.

I have a norton product on my home computer also and if they dont contact me to fix this problem i will never use their product again and i WILL go on every website im a member of and let people knoew of this.
