Norton Antivirus 2010 Causes Corrupt Files and Encoding Errors

I am running Windows 7 64 bit and for some reason Norton is corrupting my downloads. I confirmed this when I downloaded the exact same software (Firefox, HP Photosmart Printing Software/Drivers) on a different computer running Windows Vista and burned a CD. I then uninstalled Norton on the Windows 7 computer and the download worked. After reinstalling Norton again on the Windows 7 computer, I tried the download again and it was corrupted. When I would go to launch the file it would give me an error that said "File Corrupt". That's it. It wouldn't even get to the extraction part.

I contacted Symantec support and they had me download Norton AV 2010 from a different location to see if it was a file issue. At first this worked until I did a Live Update. Is anyone else with Windows 7 64 bit and Norton AV 2010 having this issue? Perhaps with the most recent Live Updates?

Also, I've been receiving messages in Firefox related to encoding errors. When I refresh the page the error usually goes away and the page loads. I checked with someone else running Windows 7 64 bit and Firefox and they are not having this issue. I have not noticed the errors when Norton is uninstalled.

Thanks!
