Since Norton AntiVirus automatically upgraded from version 22 (I think) to 24.10 on October 31, twice already after 5 days that I start getting a message of no system resources available when trying to open programs, extra tabs on browser and even saying I have no internet connection, despite being able to load pages.
I have to open only 1 or 2 at once for things to work or reboot the PC to be able to do things normally as usual, at least for 5 days.
This has never happened and the only program installed since October 31, when this problem started, was NAV.
Product & version number: 24.10.9535
OS details: Windows 7 SP1
Hello and thank you for the reply.
Yes, I can do that but the problem is that I just rebooted the PC and for the time being I’m not having that issue.
Do you want it now or should I wait until that problem returns?
And I apologize for my ignorance, but which one exactly is the one you request of running resources from Task Manager?
The link you provided says " Oops! That page doesn’t exist or is private."
Please give us both before the issue and while the issue appears, running processes in Task Manager. That will help very much. I’d like to compare them to see if you have something else going on since you’re using an end of life/support version of Windows.
Hello. If you’re cautious about screenshots of running processes, I can only suggest running a full system scan with the OS in safe mode to check for malware being resident. We cannot see what you are seeing to suggest anything otherwise. As a secondary precaution, download Malwarebytes to check for other things that Norton doesn’t focus on as well as MBAM. Run a full scan with this as well and we can follow up when you are ready.
Great!! Better protected indeed. My highest concern is you’re using Windows 7 and its still front facing the internet. Malware on websites will indeed scan you without so much as you even being aware of it. Contrary to popular belief, there are things out there that no A/V will detect 100% of the time. Most especially malware that replace and use legitimate system files to hide. Lets see what that may or may not be in your instance.
I understand that situation, but only after Norton upgraded itself for version 24 on October 31 is that this running out of system resources available after 5 days of having the PC always on started happening.
If this happens again, the next event should be on Sunday.
I’ve been using Norton for 14 years on my PC and if my memory serves me right, this is only the second time that Norton gives me problems, as for me it also seems to be the case this time.
